The owners of the Loess Hills Lavender Farm invite you to come walk through their small fields of lavender. There’s no entrance fee so come experience how lavender can tantalize your senses like few plants can. The Farm is also proud of its conservation acres (CRP) of wildflowers, grasses, and numerous pollinators. Come learn how important pollinators are to our lavender fields as well as crops, trees, and other plants.

Since 1994, Ditmars Orchard & Vineyard been known for their beautifully maintained apple orchard and fun family activities.

Like any business, they've grown and changed throughout the years, and now Ditmars Orchard has expanded to include their own vineyard, wine, pumpkin patch, and a focus on specialty food items that you can’t find anywhere else.

Of course, Ditmars Orchard will still be your “go to” place for apples, pumpkins, and fall family fun as they continue their tradition.

Mincer Orchard

Marty Mincer is the owner of Mincer Orchard, which is known for high-quality Iowa apples and apple cider, strawberries, and the occasional cherry, which sometimes puts him out on a limb. The orchard has been in the Mincer family for over a century, and is a southwest Iowa staple. Marty also grows various varieties of industrial use beans and corn on his farm, although the apples are clearly his passion.

Sales are seasonal, with berries in the spring and apples in the fall, in addition to sumptuous apple cider most anytime. You can call ahead for details at 712-382-1014. Grab some fresh fruit while on your way into Waubonsie State Park for a tasty stay, and on the way out to enhance the cupboards of your home.

One Farm Market

One Farm is the compilation of many philosophies and life experiences: a love of nature, outdoor exploration, fulfillment from physical labor, creative and seasonal cooking, sustainable growing practices, family roots, living authentically and food as medicine.

It is also the result of access to family farmland – a respected and humbling privilege – and a desire to do something personally meaningful with that access.

In late 2020 (the farm's 10th anniversary growing season), One Farm opened a seasonal pop-up market at 215 East 7th Street in Logan, Iowa. The community response was overwhelming, and so they continue on with a more permanent and expanded local foods store, One Farm Market, in Logan.

Three more for the road . . .
